Youth in ocean-action. A new wave of response

Ocean-action Resource Center, Inc (ORC) is a non-profit organization that answers the call for active marine-oriented environmental education and awareness in areas where it is most needed—in rural communities where marine conservation directly affects livelihood and where the young are most deprived of basic educational opportunities.

ORC environmental awareness and education programs cater mainly to the Filipino youth in coastal areas. ORC believes that young people today can be powerful agents of positive change. By helping them harness their unique resources and skills, we aim to form creative collaborations and innovative solutions to marine conservation and protection.

What is the ocean-action way?

The ocean-action way is a kind of transformation that involves discovery and appreciation of one’s marine environment in action. It requires hands-on learning through exploration and participation with a zest for knowledge, sense of adventure, and openness of mind and heart that usually takes place among the youth.
